Oyster flat back. 9k gold. You have the best movement. (Ultra prima). They made three movement variants.

9ct gold Rolex Oyster cushion case watch with Glasgow import hallmark for 1928 with porcelain enamel dial double-signed with the retailer's name: Alexander Clark.

Very nice original condition, although I suspect the Oyster Patent screw down winder is a later replacement (original would have been the onion shape screw down crown).

Love it!!

MW

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/vie...d=151181992612 looks like they were a london jeweler in the early 1900's. Dosn't seem too odd, I know Abercrombie and Fitch sold similar watches with Abercrombie on the dial in the US. It wasn't too uncommon for jewelers to put their name on the watch dial back then.

There's a little bit of info on the company from this past bonhams sale of a Rolex from the same period http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/14002/lot/24/

http://www.network54.com/Forum/20759...lark+in+London looks like they were bought out in 1976 but they're said in the posting to be the jeweler to the crown of england

That it's awesome, it looks great. The watch is the same principal of today's Rolex me thinks. Screw in crown, screw in case back and the bezel secured around the crystal

If I remember correctly, Alexander Clark were a London based jewellery company. I have seen quite a number of double-name Rolexes with Clark's signature.

Last Birmingham Fair I had a slightly better offer... lunch in Geneva with Hodinkee....
