Panerai Submersible questions
I'm considering a PAM Submersible but have a few questions. First and foremost, which sub would you recommend? The obvious choices are the 389, 243, or 382 "Bronzo". The issue is, I have an extremely small wrist, between 6 and 6.25inches so I think the 47mm PAMs will look funny. Do any of you have a tiny wrist but still wear the submersibles? If so, please recommend something to me and post pictures of how they look on 6inch wrists.
Secondly, since my wrist is so small, the rubber strap is too big on me. My uncle has the 112 on rubber and it was too big even on the last hole but when he put it on one of his shorter leather straps it was fine. The 44mm isn't too big but I have yet to try on a 47mm. Since the rubber is too big for me, what type of strap would you suggest I get if I want to be able to bring it swimming? I like the distressed leathers, but am not sure what I'd do for water. What do you all suggest? If you have pictures of subs in water, please post! Thank you all. |

Up to you, but, yes, it sounds like the 47 subs, which are also quite thick, might be too big. When trying on one of those, maybe also try a 24 or 25 to compare?

There are a few guys on here that have 6.5 wrist and they manage to pull off the Pam 305, I have a 305 myself and I find that it wears smaller than most think for being a 47 mm watch. The rubber on it is the accordin style and it is more flexible and softer than the one you tried on. I would definitely go to an AD to try one on before you rule it out.

![]() However, at 6" or 6.25" the 44mm subs are probably the right move. |

Bronzo if you have the funds or access.. 382 or 507..
Otherwise: If you like the fit I'd go with the 364.. Easily the best sub IMHO.. |

I have 6.5 inch wrists and loved the fit if the 243. The others are just too big. Your wrists are even smaller than mine, so I think you should skip the 47mm models.
The one thing to really think about is the thickness. It is a beast. Same can be said about the 64 and 87 (also choices you should consider if you don't mind going pre-owned). Otherwise, also look into the 24 and 25. They are thinner. I'm still holding out some hope (perhaps foolishly) that a future SIHH will offer new 44mm submersible models. ![]() ![]() |

Thank you for the responses and the few pictures. Those of you that have the 44mm sub (preferably the 24), what are your opinions compared to the PAM 112? Would you suggest this watch if I'm looking for something durable thats not a Submariner or other highly popularized tool watches?
Also, someone else mentioned this but, what do you all think the chances are of Panerai releasing a 44mm Bronzo? Although I highly doubt that will happen, I'm certain it would make a lot of people extremely happy. |

I'm not sure if I like the titanium more than the stainless steel. I also don't like the dial as much. Besides for the material of case and dial, is there a difference between the 24 and 25? They are both 44mm subs, right?
I'm not local to a Panerai boutique but I do have a few ADs close to me so maybe I'll take a ride over and try on the 44mm sub and the 47mm sub, however, I would imagine that the likelihood of them having a bronzo for me to try is slim. |
