Would you dive with your AP?
I took the plunge literally and took my ROO rose gold into the ocean. I don't go super deep, I think I was maxed out at 23 meters but still.
Kind of amazing to me that these things function flawlessly in the sea. Going to dive again tomorrow and take a photo this time. |

why ?????????????
never take into the sea anything your not willing to either loose or destroy. if you need it in the water ,,,, take two. buy a cheap dive computer and be happy and safe. just my thoughts. |

Personally I wouldn't but hey, if it doesn't damage it and you want it, I see no reason to hold back.

But I guess the feeling is one of buying a Ferrari and putting it in the garage. They make these machines to meet extreme performance criteria so I figured I'd take it for a spin. It's very cool to me that something can at the same time be so beautiful and yet so very functional. |

Why? It is not really a dive watch - what is the point of diving with a $50K sports chronograph? I might not even bring it on vacation to start with... I go on vacation to relax, not worry about what might happen to the watch I'm wearing.
Dive computer + backup diver (Rolex, Seiko, whatever) is the way to go IMO. But hey, that is just me, it is your money and watch, do what makes you happy! :-) |

Not mine. The RO bracelet is too damn shiny and might look like bait!

When tourist diving on vacation I usually wear my DSSD but I would have no problem wearing the AP diver either. The only diving the other ROO/ROs would see is into the pool with some cocktails.

I'm not sure that I'd take an ROO diving (to the beach and for general farting around in the ocean, sure...), but I'd sure as hell take my FC Diver into the briney deep.

I had a rolex form corrosion in the back of the case and my strong suspicion, based on the long history I've had with the watch, was that diving caused it (i.e., some salt water got into the caseback). No more diving with nice watches for me. Just like if I wouldn't take Ferrari roaring around on cracked-up city streets...

I would--diving into a margarita at the bar.
If you're really diving, I'd take Sub. |

rose gold expensive watch dunked in the sea ,, for no actual reason ,,, are you serious as to why not .... the sea will claim back everything sooner or later , why risk a stunning watch when you just dont have to
i cant understand why anyone would ,, the next thread will be how to refinish a dust mark , or a scratch from toilet paper , dive gear looks like junk in a week , no matter who made it or what it costs , i cant undrstand why anyone would do it , let alone the risk of loss or flooding. wetfeet quote It's very cool to me that something can at the same time be so beautiful and yet so very functional. it wont be for long if you keep taking it diving ,,, delrin or stainless ,maybe teflon coated alloy perhaps .. but nothing made from rose gold could ever be described in the dive world as functional ,,, still , its your watch , to enjoy in any way you please ,,, please post a picture , and i will use it as a teaching aid. |

I'll be diving with my AP Diver next month.
Diven with Deep Sea, Vintage Omega Ploprof, Sub ND... Why wouldn't you. Sure there's the risk of loosing it, but if you're careful that risk is very small.

Personally, I would be really tempted to try diving with those nice watches.
Maybe just once for each piece in order to get that cool little wristshot. Anyway, I don't dive but I did desk diving everyday with whatever nice watches I have.

True, but like how you went diving, but how many Ferrari owners do you think would actually even drive their cars in the rain?

BUT, then I saw my buddy's forearms after his airbag went off and I decided, I'd live vicariously through him instead!
