just arrived! PAM0024

I'd been hunting for a new watch for a few months now and it was starting to get more and more complicated, I had my mind set, then I saw something else that appealed, and on it went! I walked up and down Collins St seeking out the right watch, at the right price.

Rolex, no budge on price and wait for stock to arrive! I decided that was not good enough so I moved on, Omega, pretty much the same with the excuse that it lessens the name, well, it pays your wages too if I buy one...but the Seamaster GMT felt cheap and certainly not worthy of the $9400 price tag.

Today, I thought bugger this, I need to get the watch and be done with it..I waltzed in to The Hour Glass and the lovely young NZ girl served me straight away.

She asked what I was looking for and I told her straight out...she asked which model I was interested in and I told her this is the one! PAM0024, and she pulled it out and let me play around with it.

I played, she watched, I talked to her about watches and asked her why she doesn't wear one, she had her eye on a Cartier but the price was quite steep and she needs to work more..

We talked price and I consulted my phone for o/s and comparative prices. I made an offer for cash and she consulted with her manager whilst Susan made me a lovely coffee...I said to Monique, this has to be the price because I need to buy my bigmac for lunch after we do business..and this leaves me just enough $$ for lunch!

I got the price I wanted which gave me 8% discount! I handed over the money and she took care of the rest. I am getting my head around it's functions and asked her to explain why things needed to be done in certain ways, not just that they had to be done like this...I need a reason so I know not to do something wrong.

anyway, watch fitted, papers done, 1hr later I am out of there but still no bigmac! Monique was quite stunned at how calm and relaxed I am, I just said to her that I am a no fuss type of guy, if the deal is good then we do business, if not, I walk.

so, here she is! the packing is fantastic!

my first Panerai and probably not my last.

Beauitful watch! If I could pull off a 44mm on my wrist that would be my next one without a doubt.
