scary ROO problem
i first bought a ROO in may last year. it was defective in the sense that it would stop after a few hours no matter how many times i wound or wore it. AP acknowledged this and gave me a 'brand new' replacement. they said there was 'not enough oil' inside to lubricate the mechanical parts.
however, just this week the replacement is showing the exact same symptoms! i was told to wind it 60 times and wear it, but it still stopped after a few hours. will be sending it in, but i'm really worried that after the warranty runs out i will encounter similar problems and the repairs will be expensive. has anyone else encountered this problem? |

My only ROO is the Diver and so far it is running fine.
Frankly, for the price paid and AP's reputation, too many occurrence of quality problems to my liking. |

I had 2 ROO, seems to be running fast or little slow, but after sending to Clearwater everything seems fine. My new 15400 is fine though...

My ROO with the old JLC base movement is OK.
Ask APSC to examine and advise the root cause of the problem, and request them to thoroughly test the watch after servicing to confirm the problem is resolved. It is only reasonable for APSC to fully address such quality issue and avoid repeat failures. |

I agree, how do these pieces even get through QC at AP. For the prices we pay each one should be perfect. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Got the same problem with my ROO. It's a power reserve issue and an apparently easy fix by APSC. Mine was fixed within three weeks, unfortunately it is back with them again now due to an issue with the chrono reset function. Had no probs with this until it went into AP. Not very pleased as it has spent more time with APSC than on my wrist since I got it! Just hope it is ok this time when it comes back. I never had any issues with the old JLC movement only the newer AP in house movement. Good luck Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

scary ROO problem
Both my AP's saw the service center within 6 months of purchase for timing issues.
Not happy with all the issues people post. As much as I love the look of the watches, I'm not too keen on having any more reasons to call Clearwater. |

Exact same issue with my diver.
And u know the weird thing is? I sent it in to check the bezel. It came back spoilt. Never had any issues until it visited the apsc. Now inget it why theres 3 year warranty. Cause each time u send it in, it takes weeks to fix, returned back to u, just to have it sent back in after a short while. |

AP should pay attention on QC more, since the issue on in house movement may drive potential customers away.

We had a spell of over a month with not a single problem reported on here...I think everyone may be being slightly hasty and jumping to conclusions based on the minuscule sample size in this thread.
I also hate to say this, and I may be completely wrong but it's just an observation, but it does seem to be the same people getting recurring problems (on one or more watches)...could it be they are being mishandled by the owner and not being treated as delicately as they should be? I really don't mean this to come across the wrong way or cause offence to anyone - it really is just an observation. |

Just FYI, but 60 winds is excessive. I think the manual states 40 for full charge.
I'm on my 6th AP, only 1 had a small issue (crown stem) but everything else has been great. |

I've had 5 APs. 4 of them have the 3120/3126 movement. I could get my SS diver to run fast when I was active (walking 5+ miles a day on vacation). I believe it was a rebanking issue with the mainspring being slightly too strong. When I was less active or the watch was off the wrist it was spot on. Other than that they have all been perfect so far.
I find it strange that they said there is not enough oil in the movement. AP has special machines that accurately distributes different types of oil perfectly to each part of the movment. Seems like this would prevent issues with not having enough oil. |

Still haven't found my AP yet...but since I will likely buy preowned I sure hope the trips to Clearwater have things sorted by the time I get one.
Rolex movements are not pretty... But I sure don't hear of these sorts of issues as much. |

scary ROO problem
Quote:
Mine is a brand new ROO, had power reserve issue from day 1. APSC fixed, then returned to me with a chrono seconds hand issue, again occurred on day watch was returned to me. Watch has been worn 2 wks tops, Had my other 2 ROOs with JLC movement since 2006 & 2008, zero issues and not serviced yet. QC just ain't up to scratch, my watch should never have left the factory. Also question QC at APSC when I have an issue the first time I run the chrono, surely they would check functionality prior to returning to customer. Do love my AP's when they are working properly, so hopefully will be sotted out satisfactorily this time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just about every ROO 44mm I've owned had a 'running fast' issue. One over 3-5 minute per day. Clearwater is always nice, but to have 5 watches with the same movement have the same issue, not giving me warm and fuzzy on AP QC.
But hey, let's face it they look great. |

Just how delicately are you suggesting the watches to be handled? How can you explain a watch running fast? Another watch stopping after being left on a winder as as per the movement rotation directives? |
