Newbie questions

I've been eyeing an AP15400 for a little while and thinking of adding it to my collection. The workmanship on the case, bracelet and the movement is absolutely stunning. My question is are they fairly robust watches and can handle daily wear say like a Rolex Datejust or an Omega Aqua Terra? Or do you have to treat it with kid gloves and only wear it on special occasions like a fine dress watch? What is the recommended service intervals for them and how much does a regular service cost? Are they serviced in North America and what is the usual turn around time? Do they retain their value well? Do you save much by buying used?
Thanks in advance.

Depends what you mean by "daily wear".
I personally use my RO (AP15450) almost every day at the office, and occasionally on week-ends to go out. However, that's clearly not a beater (i have a SS Rolex for that).
Both bezel and bracelet are quite sensitive to scratches; so no outdoor activities with it as far as I am concerned.
And yes, I agree with you. Case, bracelet, dial and movement are really great.

Service is every 4-6 years. Costs about $1200.

It's quite a robust watch and suitable for daily wear. However, you will accumulate scratches esp on the bracelet due to the finely brushed finishing. Even though the scratches builds up quickly, most of them are only obvious if you look at it closely. If this is fine with you, you can use it for daily. In where I live, the 15400 retains value quite well but as with all watches, you save more by buying used.

Just for reference, this is an example of the bracelet after 5 months of interim use ( about once a week plus and minus ). But then, I am kind of "clumsy"
