Service my Day Date

Hi Guys,

I've had my 18038 day date for five years now.
I bought it and wore it everyday until December last year, when I bought my newer 18238 (images of both below)
I decided to retire my 18038 for special occasions, and wear my 18238 everyday.
Do you think it is worth servicing my old DayDate? It has cosmetic wear and I figured it should look like new if it's for best!
Has anybody got any service pictures from before and after?

Thanks

x2.But remember you are the boss when it come to service and not Rolex, you have done what you want done to your watch, you do not have to comply 100% with there recommendations.

Service my Day Date

Well if you want it for special occasions it should look mint IMHO. Reapplication of the finishes via polish and satin finish. This makes a daydate look stunning especially at night. That is just me though, some do not like polishing but every 5 years is ok, be careful ensure you use the best polisher you can find it's a real art to polish well. If you hardly wear it and it runs well now, why service it to wear it one night out, here and their for a few hours IMHO.

I sent my old 18038 to ABC Watchwerks for a full service. I originally did not want to have it polished. After talking to the crew there they assured me I would be pleased with the result of their polish job. Pleased would be a major under statement. I ended up trading the watch with one of our very well known trusted sellers. I explained it had been serviced and polished by ABC. When he got it (keep in mind he sees thousands of watches a year I am guessing) he was shocked at the quality of the polish job. He said it could have easily passed for a original Rolex finish. I will without a doubt send ABC my 218238 when it needs service.
