Tudor 94110 movement?
Hello,
I've recently been looking to buy a Tudor Submariner and I've learned a lot from this (and other) forums. Thanks! I am tempted by a blue 94110 which seems to be OK except that the vendor, a professional, says that the movement is an ETA 2783 and every 94110 I have seen on the Internet has an ETA 2784. The serial number is 964xxx which, I think, puts the watch at 1981-'82. I have asked the vendor for a photo of the movement. Any help will be much appreciated. Richard (New member) |

I've heard others say that snowflakes have had 2783's in them. I know Tudor has made 2783's for other watches but I have never seen one in a 9411. A shot of the balance will help shed light on if it is a "Tudor" movement. Is it original to a 9411? I've never personally seen one like that. Doesn't mean they don't exist but the rarity level is so severe it actually would hurt your chances of resale.
Also, show some patience. 2 hour wait when a majority of the people are sleeping isn't unreasonable for a response.

Hello John,
Thanks for this. I am waiting for the vendor to send a photo of the movement. It seems he is also a little anxious about this matter. Please forgive the impatience: I like the watch and hope that someone will provide some reassurance that this combo of 94110 + ETA 2783 is legitimate. Richard |

Mine is also 2784, serial 937,xxx
I would be very hesitant on a 2783

Good morning all,
Here are two photos of the movement plus one of the inside of the case back. Please let me know what you think. Richard |

Hard to say. Rotor is different than my Tudor Rotor - 30K serial earlier.
Plain balance wheel? I might pass.

Tudor 94110 movement?
This is what a Tudor 2783 balance should look like.
I'd want to see the Tudor stamping on the dial side of the movement at this point.

Hello,
Thanks to everyone for all the advice. I've decided to pass on this watch because of: - High price - Doubts about the 2783 movement - Non-original bracelet - No box or certificate I guess I'm nervous and don't want to go ahead until everything feels right. Richard Richard |

Hi,
don't know if it's too late for you, but the moderator on this forum had the 2783 verified original by RSC. http://www.malaysiawatchforum.com/in...p?topic=4982.0 |

I recently acquired a 94110 Snowflake that has a 2783 movement. I brought it to the Rolex Service Center here in NYC to be authenticated and they confirmed that it's 100% legit and both 2784 and 2783 movements were used in these watches.
Hope this helps anyone else with the same dilemma! |

Correct. Even though the folks at RSC can be dummies I spoke with someone who knew what they were talking about. They had to do some extra research through their archives and determined the 2783 was a-okay. My flake is from 1981.
I also came across 2 other flakes with 2783 movements recently from the early 80's. |

Mine is a 1981 and the 2783 cal is correct. Tudor used both movements as available.
