Incoming and a Big "Thank You" to Wilson & Son
I've been "jonesing" for a Sub for a long time. In '98, I went in to buy one, but the AD didn't have one in stock, so I got a GMT Master 16700 instead. Great watch, but it never really hit the spot for me. It's gone now and, in its place, is a very BEE UTIFUL Subc. The improvements over the older models are palpable, and the watch is totally awesome on every level.
A great big "thank you" to my absolute favorite AD/jeweler, Wilson & Son in Scarsdale, NY. They are first class all the way. Mike and Matt Wilson are terrific guys and know their business inside and out. I called Mike and told him that I craved a Subc. "No problem, Randy ... come down and we'll take care of you." Mike has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of all things Rolex, and I can talk to him forever about the brand. Both he and Matt "get it." I vacillated between the Date and No Date models and Mike offered his opinion based on his evaluation of my needs ... as a creature of habit, I really do need a date function. So, the deal was done. Mike threw in some cool Rolex tchatchkes (i.e., swag), sent my wife's Rolex to RSC NY for a minor warranty issue, furnished a written insurance appraisal on the spot, and I went home a very happy camper. The thing is ... Wilson & Son really made the "experience" of buying a Rolex extremely enjoyable. To me, it was worth the premium over an on-line sale. I can't say enough good things about them and recommend them highly. As for the Subc, I can't stop looking at my wrist. Yippee! |

Thanks, folks. It was tough deciding between the Date and No Date. But, when I realized that the lack of a date would drive me a bit nutty, I knew which one to choose. The build on this watch is really impressive, particularly when compared to my old GMT. Rolex has done a great job on the Sub series. Glad to have joined the Sub Club. Oh, and I chose a name for her as well ... "Subrina." Am I cookoo, or what?

I did the exact same thing. I went with the subc and from an AD. I really loved the whole experience. A year and a half later and it still brings me the same level of joy and happiness that it did on day one. Big congrats!!!!! Well done sir
