3573.50 was magnetized!
Guys,
You aren't going to believe this (well maybe you are). My speedy was running +45sec/day fast. The chrono was advancing automatically to the 5 second indice when the pusher was depressed and it was hard to wind. Which lead me to believe my "certified pre-owned" Speedy from Tourneau (yes I know, should've bought from TRF, was a good deal) was in need of a service or overhaul. However, upon taking to the service dept at Tourneau, it was determined that my speedy was magnetized! They demagnetized it, it's now running +8-10sec/day with an amplitude of 317. And the chrono feature works again. I validated the timing against atomic time. No idea how it go magnetized, but wanted to see if anyone else had a similar experience? |

No similar experience as I have never owned a Speedy.
I have had watches magnetized before though - never could identify an isolated reason for it. Look at the bright side - maybe Omega will contact you to help advertise the new 8508 movement. |

Note that the 3573.50 has the display back and not the anti-magnetic movement cover of the 3570.50. The absence of the cover makes the movement more susceptible to magnetization.
Bottom line: stay away from anything that generates a magnetic field while wearing your watch. Most people (like myself) who love to look at the beautiful Lemania "work of art" learn to be careful around magnets. |

Well said, thank you. Didn't even think of the display back. |

Glad you got it sorted.
As for sapphire casebacks, I am willing to take the risk.
