Celebrity Watch Endorsement
Its interesting how many celebrities who endorse rival watch brands (past/present), actually seem to prefer Rolex:

No idea and no interest.
Paid shills do not impact my decisions.

You do know that they "endorse" products because they get paid to do so...

Funny here posters not caring about endorsements, but buy a Sub or a OP because it was worn by James Bond....Some one is not being honest with themselves.

They're " actors" paid to wear a brand ...they can " act" like they like it.....it's part of their job.....and please, don't justify wearing a Rolex sub with a suit/ formal attire just because James Bond did.....I actually lost respect for Bond as how can he wear a sub ( explorer?) with a tux? And fool any of the " high rollers" bad guys??? One look at his watch would have been a dead giveaway that he's not a high roller, rather a spy.......he should have worn some high tech thin, dress watch on croc........I say this because I don't know how many times I've heard people wearing a sub with a suit, formal wear and say, it's great and goes with a suit because of " James Bond "

they probably have many fine watches. over here, we just notice the rolexes they wear and the reason is quite obvious why.

This was just an interesting observation for me and yet another compliment to Rolex...that even when someone is paid to endorse another brand, their true passion is Rolex!

Celebrity endorsements are meaningless to me and I'm being honest.
I care even less what fictional characters wear. I don't even like James Bond movies, at least not the two I saw some 45 years ago.

In reality, one would be surprised to find out how much of that stuff is "gifted."

Any celebrity endorsement should be laughed at. Do you want to go out and spend thousands on a watch only to find out they've had sex with their housekeeper and had a child? Or seen a rapper wear a certain watch to find out his lifestyle was less than agreeable?
These relationships between celebrity and manufacturer should be ignored. Much the same as a watch manufacturer who ties in with a motorsport or car company.

Celebrity Watch Endorsement
No amount of celebrity endorsement will persuade me to buy watches, any brand, sorry to say that.
I buy Rolex watches because I personally like the brand. :) |

Great comment but I feel a bit differently. I don't care about their paid endorsements but I care passionately about NOT wanting to hear their opinions on politics, global warming, or social issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I trust people here that put their hard earned money towards different Rolex models. People who will give their honest opinions and even admit impulsive purchases (me included). To be paid for an endorsement means nothing to me.

I think it's interesting when a celebrity is actually interested in watches. Like Tom Hanks and Clooney are both into Omega, even though Clooney is a brand ambassador. John Mayer and Daniel Craig are both into vintage Rolex etc.
I enjoy knowing this because if I ever meet any of these guys, at least we can talk about something! Hahaha.

Anyone familiar with advertising, brand management, consumer buying habits, the basic techniques on which Madison Ave operates will find the responses here amusing.

I don't think the OP cares as well. He's just trying to start a thread.

I think the worst case is Daniel Craig as Bond wearing Omega, but in real life using only Rolex!

I don't know the contract, but probably is based on the 007 character, not the actor himself!!!

Daniel Craig would be a god no matter what he wore (or didn't wear). The fewer clothes he wears the better. But I am glad that he likes Rolex.
I do find, however, that celebrities that are associated with Rolex are at the very tip top of the profession in which they represent. Golf? Tiger Woods. Opera? Placido Domingo, Renee Fleming and Cecilia Bartoli. Tennis? Roger Federer. (Well, he is Swiss after all!) I would love to see Meryl Streep in a Rolex ad. |
