Basel pics...
Hey all,
I don't normally post in the Omega area as I only own a couple (that sounds pretty awful doesn't it )... Anyhow, I was at Basel on Saturday and took a look-see at some of the models. Some pics are below. I'm "mikeinfrankfurt" on Instagram and uploaded lots of shots on there of everything...sometimes the resolution looks better on a phone screen. All I can see is that Apollo 11 looks fantastic live...odd as I usually don't love the annual edition Speedmasters. Here goes it:

This was a great year for Omega and Rolex. Awesome releases. From this great pictures and watches I would get #2. That is one of the most beautiful watches Omega ever released IMHO.

Thanks for these! The DeVille Tresor will most definitely be mine as soon as it releases. Just glorious.

I love the DeVille Tresor.
I hope, for Omega's sake, that the Apollo 11 looks better in person because here it looks... unpleasant. I was excited for the seamaster 300... alas I was disappointed. Its not bad but not the "home run" that it could have been. But dang that Tresor is nice. |

the thing about the tresor is, i like it most because of the movement. the design, however, does not move me much. it looks dated (like an old man's watch), as opposed to a modern heritage piece. i guess it's a fine line between the two and intensely personal. compared to the new cellinis or a comparable JLC, the tresor does not move me at all.
for me, the lunar DSOTM and the RG seamaster are the two big omega winners from this year's basel. |
