Another "how to post photos" question

I notice that some photos posted are available without signing in while others show a link accessible only if I am signed in. Mine are in the latter category. How do I post a photo that is always visible whether signed in or not? Thanks

I believe that photos are unavailable to anyone not signed in....once you sign in. they show up.

This give you the incentive to sign up as a member; good idea actually; worked for me!

Be safe.

I believe the attachment photos are ones you have to be signed in to view. For images you want to just show on a post you can upload them to imgur.com and just place the jpg image link in between the [IMG] [/IMG] tags.

If you upload your pic as a attachment so did you have to sign in to see it. If you host it on a public server you will
see it even when you have log out.

What is best a custom Rolex or a Rolex that is stuck in custom?

Buy a professional camera and you´re a professional
photographer, buy a flute and you own a flute.

So, if you use TRF to host your pics, you have to sign in.

If you used 3rd party (like photobucket and imageshak) then they are always visible.

I recommend 3rd party so you can manage your pictures and take a load off the TRF servers.

why would you use anything but TRF to host your pictures? is there an advantage I'm unaware of? Just curious.

Hey iazrollie, I asked because whenever I post a pic, I use advanced, then go to my own picture file and download the pic to my post. However, when I do it this way, the pic is only visible to those who are signed in. If not signed in, there is a link which directs to the sign in page. From the explanations, I need to go to a third party host for the pic to be visible all the time whether signed in or not.

If you ever want to take them down, you can by moving or deleting them on your 3rd party provider and then they'll disappear from being on TRF (although you could still get them on internet cache), you can't on TRF to the best of my knowledge.

The other advantage is that it lowers the bandwidth usage that Stevo has to pay for to run TRF. Images hosted by 3rd party don't affect TRF bandwidth. He keeps this place advertisement free and that costs him money.

thanks. i was always curious. I understand the bandwidth point, but why would you want to remove your own pictures from TRF?

Let's say you are selling something and you sold it. Now you don't want it up there for people to steal your pics to use as their own for fake sales, etc. There are other reasons also.

More sellers should start watermarking their photos.
