AP RB2 RG (BNIB) but no boxes or papers ...

Hey guys ...

Some1 (trustworthy)offering me a Brand New AP RB2 RG (No boxes & No papers). The current price (if I;m not wrong) for a NIB is USD 65k and above (plz correct me if I'm wrong).

He is asking USD 54k.

Is it worth?.

BTW, I'm going to wear it and can try to find a box from market and also will try with AP to get me a duplicate papers (not sure I can get them).

Your thoughts is highly appreciated.

Khalid

I agree...with something that expensive, IMO, it's going to be a problem moving it without the box and papers.

Take a look at the RB2 Ti...there are people that have had theirs for sale for over a year because it didn't have box/papers.

With the more desirable LEs, I think people are willing to pay for the collector's set.

With the box, keep in mind that it would have to be a RB2 box as just having it in a ROO box isn't the same. As for papers, I don't think AP would be willing to reproduce the original warranty book if it was lost.

For me, the boxes and papers are not required for a watch that i will enjoy wearing as long as the price is right.

+1.

...and going on Khalid's collection/museum I can't seeing this being an 'investment' piece in the grand scheme of things.

AP RB2 RG (BNIB) but no boxes or papers ...

See with AP 1st if you can get the duplicate papers and box.

At that price point, it's is more about the collectibility of the item than saving on the price point.

why???
you already have an awesome collection and you can obviously afford to wait and buy one with B&P when it comes up

It seems like the higher the price the watch, the more desirable the B&P's are. I mean even with intentions of wearing it forever, there's always a chance you will sell it down the road. On the other hand, if AP can give replacements and/or authenticate it, I think that helps the value at least to me

While a very good price my friend I would pay the extra money and buy complete if it were me. I know you are a man of impeccable taste and over time it would bother you like it would me. Best regards,

AP will provide for a small fee new papers but they will need the watch to be sent to HQ before they do it - it is usually in a small thin leaflet rather than the usual 100 page booklet. As for the box, finding an RB2 dedicated box will be difficult.

If it's a wearer and not to be sold, however, I don't see the problem as long of course as it is definitely authentic.

With your amazing collection why not pick it up and make it your "beater" you don't need a box or papers to enjoy it!

For a daily wearer I wouldn't care but at higher price ranges I want a complete set.

I'd skip it, for someone with your amazing collection is it really worth getting a compromised piece?

why not? if it's for your own enjoyment B&P won't matter much (until u want to sell it!)

If buying for investment then I think way to close to rrp without papers... Even if ap does give you papers they will not have the same effect as original papers when selling.

Altho there are some super frankens of this, as it is in RG the weight will be an instant tell if it is real so papers are not so essential here for authenticity.

I am kind of an OCD and I want box and papers for all my watches. I feel that with your nice taste in everything, at one point, it will start to bug as well.
