End of the road for Forged Carbon Diver

I mourn for this model.. According to boutique, forged carbon production will be ceased. Next will be the fc Novelty..

Apparently, ceramic will be the concentration.

This is a true statement--FC are going to disappear (from what I've been told by AP).

Ceramic, ceramic, ceramic moving forward--and why not, AP finishes ceramic like no other brand.

However, I do love the FC look.

The FC diver is my daily beater and really my favorite of all the watches I currently own. Really sorry to see AP stop production on this great material.

Some of the service bulletins on the FC are scary! Shame my favourite material in AP.

Sad to learn the news. A year ago the CEO was saying FC will be here to stay, and a year later it is being phased out. What a shame for a unique material which is so AP.

Shame thought the FC was a very intriguing material to use.

I'm pretty sure a new FC case was surprisingly cheap.

isnt ceramic a substantially heavier material than FC....dont really view those as interchangeable materials, other than i guess they are both not steel

I have 44mm ceramic and had FC 44mm (twice) and I cannot tell the weight difference at all (maybe just slightly heavier--but by a fraction).

Ceramic is rocking

Love my FC Diver. The mix of the FC case with the ceramic bazel looks beautiful. Surely FC will be missed.

Interesting...

All I can say is that I love my FC Diver -- best of the Divers, IMO. As for forged carbon, it's a shame to see it go, as it was/is such a unique material.

Regards,
Adam

Interesting perspective. I have the ss Diver and the Ceramic Diver and I don't notice much a difference in weight! Ceramic is probably slightly lighter but not significantly. Need to invest in a scale I guess.

Hate to resurrect an old thread, but I brought this up at APNY over the weekend and neither my sales associate nor his coworker had heard anything about FC going away. Do we have any hard evidence?

I really hope AP keeps using FC..

Richard Mille has their version, but the wood grain isnt doing it for me.

If you need to replace the FC parts, its price is reasonable.

I wonder whether replacement parts will shoot up after they discontinue FC?

I'm wondering about this too...I've been too busy to take my watch to get it inspected at my local boutique but I've encountered abnormal FC wear that is annoying me.

AP Singapore advised me to take it to my boutique to get it inspected before sending it.
