Icon15 AP Diver Calendar Font change

A while, I was more into Rolex and Pam but never forget what I had with AP 15300. I briefly had it for months then switched to diver world. Anyway, classic and contemporary timepiece was on my wrist somewhat making me to think, "is it suitable for me" all the times.

After few years back and with many trades and saving, I'm getting my new AP forged carbon diver in next few days... Feels like kid again. Naturally many folks will question me about why forged carbon over ceramic... Guess it's more personal taste over yellow and awesome marble texture of carbon diver over ceramic. Worn Ceramic diver in boutique and it's phenomenal, can't say it's bad. But still the first feeling I had with forged carbon at boutique about a year ago, still got me. Maybe impression I had from bumble bee kept me running... (but don't like chronograph in my own nature... never use the function, so why should I have it ^^)

Anyway, before getting new FC diver in next few days, I found interesting thing about calendar font among models. Even between two same FC diver, I found two different font used in calendar date.

As you can see, far right is new ceramic diver with different font. But also found this same font in far left. Middle is what I often find in many member's FC diver pictures. Mine is the same as middle one. Personally I like Serif font in the middle which making me to think great match with brand images and character (well, we all may have different opinion about this).

But wondering which one is the latest (one of reviewers in watch blog says san-serif version you can find in far left/right pic) and any history or background info about it.

Cheers!

The sans-serif font is the one in the middle; the other two are serifs.

Correction aside, my FC Diver, which is over a year old, has the serif font:

Regards,
Adam

PS - Nothing strange about going for the FC over the ceramic. Or the steel over the FC – each version has its own distinct character and charm. For me, I'm FC all the way. ;-)

Yes the middle one. Actually when I got my Diver and noticed the date for the first time I thought to myself that th font they picked for the date was not exactly the most attractive font out there lol...

It is interesting change. I understand that most brands are moving to more modern font such serif in many cases. AP diver already have a strong inner bezel numerical fonts so san serif on date kinda soften it up the overall balance. Well at least it's my point of view. 3 more days and counting every second!'

I regret of having forged carbon diver. the quality of the yellow paint at 12-3 = not perfect.

with this price, i can't tolerate anymore.

just get a rolex.

well, at least from my try-out both FC and CE, I felt similar. Maybe FC felt a bit lighter. Quality-wise, I do not see much difference from my eyes (maybe I'm amateurish) except diver bezel with yellow square off from 12 - 3, but CE model orange bar over 12 - 3 which was odd for me. Regardless, got your point. Well, I still love the look and feel I had it in Boutique and no way to turn around at this point, but will enjoy it.

Yes. Love rolex and have Hulk and Datejust (1972). Loving it!

Why do you spend so much time on a subgroup for a brand you do not like

What the hell are you talking about? The paint is perfect, and the cut off is much cleaner than that of the Ceramic Diver.

Adam
