I'm sorry if this is common knowledge but after searching for a while I haven't found an answer.

Can I have an AP shipped to the US? There are some brands including Rolex that will not allow watches to be shipped to the US and will either be returned to the sender or seized by customs.

Does this happen with APs?

Properly imported, normal duties would of course apply, based on the value of the watch.

Rolex is banned for any import from overseas to US soil in general route. Others I have not heard about it. But don't expect you can waive any duty so make sure you are preparing it. If seller has lots of experience to ship to US let them handle and follow what they suggest. I have got my shipment from Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Japan. Luckily all good except one so paid duty.
