I have to share this, Some of my pictures were on display at an event I covered
As the event's photographer.
I never saw one of my pictures blown up so big before... And there was way more than one. Those huge background pictures are some of the pictures I took in Paris for this client... The picture on the left was photoshoped to have the client's name on it, This is the building they will be performing in this coming summer... These pictures of the pictures were captured with a D3 and 14-24/2.8 the first one at iso ... Get this 5600 at f2.8 1/250 of a sec ... The picture displayed on the left was captured in Paris with the D300 and the one on the right was captured with the D2Hs, a 4.2 megapixel camera, both of these images are blown up to about... 14 feet high by 30 feet wide ![]() ![]() Wow is all I can say when you get to see your work displayed like this for a gala event... Okay it was part of the decor not in my honor. ![]() And to give an idea about the size of the pictures... keep in mind the pictures of the Chariot on the right was captured with a D2Hs... Just stunning! A lowly 4.2 megapixels camera captured that image and it was not pixelated blown up to that size, projected on canvas... And it was cropped a little... All I can say is... WOW! ![]() Those pictures were projected on canvas, part of the decor. I was commissioned to get pictures of Paris landmarks for this gala event which was tittled, "A night in Paris" there were night time pictures as well projected later in the evening... Now I have a solid 7 to 8 days of work to convert everything from this event for the client... And you probably thought I would be getting off easy if I told you I only take pictures once a week or once every two weeks for clients... Trust me I do not get off easy, but I'll be picking up something to make up for it next Wednesday ![]() |

Looking awesome man, excellent!!
I used to do club visuals in the 90's so I understand the rush you must have got from seeing your work helping create an atmosphere that people could enjoy themselves in :) A note re blowing up/pixel count etc.... As you know projectors push out at 72dpi, whereas for print you'd need a greater resolution than that. So if those images were printed, as opposed to projected, there would definitely be pixellation. If the prints were designed to be viewed from a distance then that wouldn't be so bad. Next week I can bring your granny and some eggs along and I'll see what I can do :) Cheers man, thanks for sharing those! |

Congrats man, that must be satisfying as a photographer to have your photos displayed at a official function and blown up to those gigantic proportions.

Outstanding pictures. They really added a lot to the event. You must be proud. BTW, what was the main course? I'm always thinking of food.
