Personally, I am not a big fan of the CRB. I don't need superflous over-branding, reminding me constantly that I'm wearing a Rolex.

So True: I think Rolex has gone over the top, does the serial number still show in the lugs?

Never seen CRB in person. Seems a bit much though. Although I've heard it's quite subtle.

The only time I notice it on my DJ is when I take a picture. Makes no difference to me. May make it a little harder for the counterfeiters to duplicate. As Kevin (CPTL) pointed out it is perfectly aligned with the dial. Very precisely inscribed.

The Chapter ring is negligible in terms of visibility, but will allow easier authentication.

BONUS: The ID # now appears at the 6:o'clock area of the chapter ring.
This will allow easier identification and coordination with the corresponding papers of origin if you are buying a watch as a second party.
Someone with a good Macro lens may want to post a partial pic of the
Chapter Ring numbers so all may see.

While it's true the engraving on the rehaut isn't as noticeable "in the flesh" as in photos, I prefer a clean look.

I think it depends on the model ?? On a simple dial configuration it can be a bit over the top. But in reality it isn't that noticeable. It looks far more pronounced in the photos we take.

In some of the close up shots it is much more noticeable than in person but the photos Mike has posted above I think are a close representation of what it looks like in person.

I have not voted due to the fact of owning both types, and in reality and normal use its seems to be quite subtle. Photos seem to accentuate the CRB.

I'm not a big fan of the CRB or rehaut. I guess it'll have to grow on me. Unfortunately, you won't have much of a choice if you go with a newer M series nowadays. Rolex has moved this direction to make it more difficult to replicate/copy. Good thing the ones I have now don't have it. That's my 2cents!

i like the idea of having the serial # located at the 6 oclock position.

however the branding does not really concern me all that much

I dislike it the branding around the ring. The original clean design is better.

I guess this branding is an anti counterfeit move by Rolex, but it really clutters and diminishes the beauty of their watch designs, IMO.

Gratuitous and unnecessary... The serial no. is one thing, Rolex (x10) is another.
