Manufacture date for Ser. No. 001134
I have a Men's 18K Diamond President Day/Date that I purchased in 1982. Reading from my appraisal it list the Case #1807 and Serial #001134. This watch has a diamond dial as well as a 44 stone Diamond Bezel. I plan to sell this watch in the near future. Can some one give me an idea of the date it was manufactured as well as an expected value.
This watch has been worn and shows band wear as well as a few chip marks on the crystal. Keeps great time and has been a great watch. I think I will sell this watch and purchase a Date/Just. And advise or help would be appreciated. THANKS |

Neither the model nor the serial number give much sense. And if you want to sell it HERE, "near future" means at least 15 posts and membership of at least 15 days. Best of luck!

Thanks for the response. YES I am aware of the 15 days & 15 post. I took the info from the appraisal that was done in 1982 by a very reputable Manufacturing Jeweler. His description is as follows: Mans's 18K yellow gold Diamond President Rolex Watch. Watch is Oyster Perpetual Day-Date, Case #1807, Serial #001134. Watch has a diamond dial being 8, round full cut stones approx .02pts. each and one baguette approx .011/2pts each on figures 6 & 9. Bexel is set with 44 round single cut diamonds being approx .02pts each with a combined weight of .88pts. Watch has a Satin and Bright Finish with a tongue and box catch with side safety.

Welcome to the Forum.
A Rolex president ref 1807 would place this watch back in the early days of production... much earlier than your 1982 purchase date.. The serial number makes no sense and I suspect your original appraiser took the "serial #00134" from the wrong place....possibly of the movement.. The Case number listed is actually the reference (model) number. Take the bracelet off and you will find this number on the side of the case....The serial number should be on the case on the opposite side.. This solid gold Rolex may be worth anywhere from a few thousand up to 40 k depending on the style, dial, originality, etc..

40K for a non quick DD? Are you serious? Stretched bracelet, chipped crystal, not a 40k watch. Even new this watch is well under that.
That watch is worth $3500 maybe 4k if the bezel and dial are really nice. |

What auction was this in? Antiquorum? I was not aware that a Stella dialed 1807 was worth anywhere near this, most of the Stella's I see, one colour enameled, bring 7 or 8 thousand. Speaking realistically, an old DD, with Dia dial and bezel, maybe factory, maybe not, a stretched bracelet, and a bad crystal is a $3500-$4000 watch. It's a non quick watch, and has the old pie pan dial...

Correct Serial Number is #99134
I double checked the Serial Number myself and it is 99134 and the manufactures case/style number is 1807. Based on that I can only assume that it is a President Day/Date and someone has added the gold diamond face as well as the diamond bezel. I have no idea if after marker or Rolex face and bezel.
The serial number says it was manufactured in 1940 if my research on this site is correct. Anyone have any thoughts?? |
