Service needed with dial swap for 116520?

Hi Tech Xperts,

When changing the dial on a Daytona 116520, does the movement need to be serviced? I know hands can be bent/broken during the process and may need to be replaced. However, if the watch is essentially new and otherwise running well, is there any need to make sure there's been no damage/jostling to the movement during its removal for the dial swap?

Thanks.

No it doesn't need to be serviced if the movement is in perfect condition.

Good to know! Will be less hesitant to have dial swapped.

Thanks, Vanessa!

Be advised that an authorized Rolex Repair Center will keep your old dial if they do a swap for you...

My Explorer II was just serviced by Rolex Canada this past January
In the last week I've been back to Rolex Canada to get the crystal replaced the first trip I couldn't stand te scratches.
The second trip this past Wednesday was to get the hands replaced because the lume was gone and I couldnt see it in the dark.

Both times I had to sign a waver that said I was okay with getting the parts replaced without a service to the movement. They did the replacements and pressure tested the watch and I was good to go.

On the second visit for the hand change I was told the tech noticed my watch was loosing a bit of time and he adjusted it for me. I was happy with the service.
One more trip to get a new bezel and I'm good until the next servicing

Will RSC swap a dial that is provided by me if it is genuine Rolex but not offered on my model? What is the typical cost?

Nope. They would refused to change it. Must be purchased directly from them.

I just inquired with RSC here in the Philippines regarding a dial swap for my 116520 from white dial to black dial and they said they are no longer allowed to do it. They will only replace the dial with the same color as it originally left Rolex.

Is this true for every RSC everywhere else in the world?

First I've heard of this, but I rarely go to RSC because of their draconian policies...
