What was the last regular bezel submariner they made? Was it an '08? What's the ref?

16610 with date, 14060m without.

I believe it's a V, 09/10. I've got an M which most believe was produced around 08

It is a submariner: either 16610, 16610lv or 14060m (last ones were V, G and a few random serial numbers).
I bought my V serial 16610lv in extremis in october 2010, the production stopped in march 2010.

Good choice, these 3 models are slim and very well balanced. They are cheaper than the new ceramic ones, lighter and have the same parts except from the ceramic bezel, the bracelet and the more square case on the new ones. Movement is the same.
16610lv has the same "maxi dial" than the new ceramic subs.

The 16610's on a random ser have the AR cyclops.

Not forgetting the Parachrom hairspring.

Practically, you will not see any difference beetween parachrom and "old" hairspring.

Apart from improved accuracy. Well that's my experience anyway, oh and full in-house movement of course.

You're quite correct Bo. The 3187 ticks all the boxes in that case. My SubC instruction booklet is telling porky's when it states that I have a complete in-house movement. Only a handful of owners know the real truth.

That being said, doubt that Paraflex is any better than KIF that's been tested by time (and above all: shocks) for many, many years...

But Rolex "has to" (well, not really, but you know what I'm trying to say?) have their own stuff in their watches and not something from the Swatch Group.........

No matter the name of the hairspring in the case movements is only as good to what its been regulated too.Even with or without a parachrom if movement is not correctly regulated both will have poor acccuracy.
