Just back, missed this site

Hi all. Just wanted to say just got back from Cancun, yeah great place. Didnt bring the tt blue though and missed her. Checked out Playa Del Carmen Ultrajewels at the shopping area. Several all gold blue subs, platty yachts,tt daytonas,no sd's,or gmt pepsi though. I think the prices were a bit higher than ususal, only 10 % discount,no bargain, better here. Oh, and in one shop they were actually selling copies from a showcase. SS daytona for $450.00 US dollars with the 24 Hours Daytona engraved on back. Other shop with sombreros and tshirts and fakes. gmt coke bezel guy starts at 600. I asked pesos ? No dollars he says. Then 500,400,300, as I am walking out O.K. 200 dollars take it. I said 40 bucks, he turned away.
I bought t shirts other places.

Glad you had a nice vacation. I wouldn't pay even 1 peso for a fake.

Welcome back Peter! Hope it was a sweet trip! Any reason why you didn't bring Bluessy with you? And did the fakes look like the real deal? Or were they obvious knock offs? Pics of Cancun would be nice!

Just back from trip

I did take a few pics of the resort and area but I havent got a clue as to how to get them from the digital camera to the site. I will brush up on that skill and try. Before I left I posted a question about bringing the TT sub down there. The feeling I got was better to leave it at home. Kinda glad I did. Resort was great, people were friendly, trip to Playa Del Carmen was typically 'touristy.' I saw only 1 other person with a Rolex the entire time there. All gold sub blue face. Lots and lots of gold bling. Like a South American Mr T actually. Strange guy with an ear piece and sunglasses providing not so discreet 'overwatch' from under trees. Very obvious too. Yeah, body guard. After speaking with people there the cost of a real watch would pay for a lot of groceries clothes etc. Info on local law enforcement didnt seem reasuring if something happened.
As for the fakes ? Very poor. And like a said in other post, guy started at 600 US. Then down to 200. Not even close pal.
Someone did advise to just get a Timex or something, good call. Travelling to other countries with similar socio economic background I would feel more comfortable with the TT, but not to Mexico sorry.
