Submariner Date / No date

Hi... Just a general question. Does the sub date command a better price than the sub non-date model? Please assume similar age and condition etc. for this query. Thanks in advance.

Rob

Yes the date is usually around 1000 more from what I've seen on here.

That's just one reason why the Submariners are such a great bargain relative to the Submariners Date and all you have to do is learn to to check the date in the morning and then remember that date all day.

Who knows? The Submariners could help prevent dementia.

For a long time, I thought I used to see a $500 difference in similar used Sub's, with the date models being higher. I haven't paid much attention, lately, though.

The date's will always command more premium simply for that reason.

I always liked the clean look of no date better but have never owned one. One aspect I like about SD over Sub is the lack of cyclops on crystal.

Not only does the lack of cyclops help the appearance of the no date, so does the price tag. It's a great watch for us cheap bastids.

IIRC the subc non date new is £5,000, and the subc date is £5,800.

The subc date seems to be more in demand on the used market but at the moment the non date is holding its value as it's harder to get hold of than the date.

Perhaps, but doctors have found that prolonged exposure to TRF will counter any positive effects.

Yup, no point having a perfect memory while you're in debtor's prison.
