About to purchase a GMT Master ll.

Im looking to buy a GMT Master ll (green second hand) next week at Ben Bridge here in Houston. Priced at $8450.00 is that a decent price? Overpriced? I'm still new to Rolexes. Also, I've seen seen some in the classifieds section that are priced decently. How will I know if I'm paying for the genuine stuff. Heard a lot of stories from an AD that I wouldn't know if the inside is genuine or if it's stolen. They said that if it's stolen and I send it for service, Rolex will confiscate it? Please give me some advise. This is an expensive purchase and I want to make sure I get the right watch.
Thank you and I will really appreciate all the responses.

I believe that is full MSRP so Ben Bridge is not offering any discount. From everything I've read here, the trusted sellers are just that. Look at their references. My Explorer II came with signed cards documenting the authenticity of the watch. But if you rather buy from an AD, the Rolex.com site shows half dozen others in Houston so you can shop their price.

$8450 does sound like the MSRP... the BLNR MSRP is $8950. If you buy from a trusted TRF seller you can get $1K - $1.5K off the LN model for BNIB or at least Mint. Discounts on the BLNR even by trusted TRF sellers are few and far between. So if paying AD full price, (and it looks like Ben Bridge is an AD) the $500 premium for a BLNR definitely seems like money well spent for me. HOWEVER, some people just flat out prefer the LN version vs. the BLNR. Even with my BLNR my AD threw in an extra year of warranty + 2% of purchase price in-store credit for future purchase.

Yes it's the MSRP and they won't extend any discount. 3 yrs warranty.

I understand if you want to want to purchase your watch at an AD, but I'd avoid Ben Bridge at all costs. I've had nothing but bad experiences with those crooks. I'd look for an independent AD to buy the watch from. You're likely to get a better deal (even if it is something small like no tax). If you are in Texas, I'd highly suggest buying a watch from our very own trusted seller Takuya. He is located in Texas and I believe he will do a face-to-face deal with you.

Agreed. For the 116710LN, unless they are willing to discount at least 10%+no tax (which they won't), I would avoid Ben Bridge.

Try a family owned AD or trusted seller here.

The BLNR is a beautiful piece, however, I do not understand what it is roughly 2K more that the 116710 with the black bezel...Anyways, if it is what you want, buy it on TRF from a trusted seller. Cant go wrong with these guys...

+1 I Just bought mine so I am very familiar with that watch. The only place where I found a discount on new MSRP was on my recent cruise to Grand Cayman.

My advice to you if you are looking to save is to buy here from a trusted seller. I'm thinking DavidSW could get you a good deal... He always has minty fresh watches IMO

I had bought from Ben Bridge in Houston (Willowbrook mall) in the past. I always recommend buying in Cancun. GMT black bezel was like 7700 taxes included and you can get like 9% tax back or something like that. I just bought the GMT BLNR for 8807. You can spend that 1k USDs more in a trip to Cancun just to buy your Rolex.

Great choice in a first Rolex. Consider buying from the very trusted sellers on TRF. You can get a LNIB and save $$$$ toward your next rolex!

And I think you will find that if your watch develops an issue requiring repair during the warranty period, an AD will send it to an RSC just like you would if you buy from a Trusted Seller. A local AD will size the bracelet for you, but from some of the horror stories I've read here, some AD's hire less than agile gorillas to do that work.

Just bought one from a Rolex AD here in Houston. They gave me 10% discount from MSRP price. $8200 out the door. BNIB with all stickers intact. I will pick it up Saturday.

Should be about $7100 BNIB, no tax (US AD your name and dated) here from trusted seller.

Don't over pay.
