Gold GMT II vs steel 26400...should I ?

I had a desire to add a little sparkle to my life and was offered an interesting proposition:

Rolex Gold GMT II 116718 in trade for my steel 44 novelty 26400.

After initially rejecting the offer...I'm having some second thoughts.

I would love to upgrade the steel for the RG 44 Novelty, but its just not in cards, budget wise.

I would still have my AP fix in the form of my FC diver

Thoughts ? Comments ?

Yes I would do it as you have a Diver and an all gold Rolex is stunning. Then keep saving and flip for the RG 44MM.

Do it one, do it right, cheaper that way ;)

I was in the same situation...had a 44ss and wanted a 44rg. Also tried on the YG gmt a few times but my wife thought I looked old. Must admit, I didnt love it either.

Ended up selling/saving for a 44rg and couldnt be happier!

Dump Diver and 44mm SS and get RG 44mm--simple.

The RG 44mm AP in my book is numero uno.

Nothing against Gold GMT (love GMT), but AP RG 44mm is on another level...IMHO.

Albeit it's not the gold GMT version, it's the best I can do:

I'd do that trade as I think the 718 is one of the best watches out there

do you want to trade gold for steel?

Think again.

I would sell my ap diver fc and get another gold rolexes. regret buying non precious metal ap.

if you want to improve better get the rg novelties. (although for me i would not, i stick to rolexes)

Sure...why not? It's the better watch.

Seems like a fair trade too.

Save up for what you really want, the 44RG. Do not compromise.

Another shocker! I am surprised to hear you say you would stick to Rolex--especially gold ones.

I would do that trade in a heartbeat. I love my 116718. However, I do lust for the 26400. Still, go for the gold.

Depends on the age and condition of the 116718 as well. You can find a minty unpolished V-serial or newer for $21-22K, what is your AP worth?

I say pics of your supposed AP FC Diver or it didn't happen. You've claimed to own all sorts of high-dollar watches, never posted a pic of any of them, always posting googled pics from other forums, and trolling this one.

Where are your pics?

I noticed that he was online when I posted it but skedaddled outta here pretty quickly after that, you could almost hear fast footsteps, door slamming, and tires screeching!
