Opportunity but need Opinions
I am very familiar with modern Rolexes but have often considered a good quality vintage purchase. And I have a particular like for the GMT Master Pepsi. I have an opportunity, through a local collector, to purchase a GMT 1675 Pepsi from 1968. It has just been serviced and runs within COSC and meets all pressure testing. It comes with original box and all paperwork. It was a one watch owner who recently sold it to make room for a another Rolex. I am being offered it for $6500. What do you all think? An iPhone pic I took today is attached. Thanks very muchimage.jpg

Does the watch, besides original boxes, have original warranty paper, GMT owner's paper, tags etc? A photo would help along with better photos of the watch and bracelet.
$6500 for a 1968 GMT that is a complete set would be a bargain, based on a watch in above average condition. How about some more details and some photos.

Way too high in price.
I could get the same watch complete all in for $5k and the watch would be a 9/10

GMT 1675 complete sets from the late 1960s are very tough to find. I will respectfully disagree that $6500 is "way too high."

You can't even find a 9/10 1675 for 5k without box and papers. Not sure what he's talking about |

I will agree with John that this is a good price for this watch however the insert has been replaced it is not an original insert. More pictures are needed to determine the case condition . Would like to see a picture of the movement to see if there is any corrosion. The lugs appear to be uneven but that may be the position of the photo and the minute hand appears to be slightly lighter in color.

Scans still not great. what was S/N? I think for the price quoted with full set box and papers it is still a good purchase. Watch looks nice, a good experienced polisher can bring back the lugs, period insert not hard to find. If it was offered to me it would be in my safe if all parts check out :-) best of luck M

Looks as though the dial is probably relumed. The color and texture is not typical for that dial version, and I think I see some sloppiness on 9 and 10. I also noticed in your first large photo that the markers look to have that shiny consistency typical for relume.

Personally I would go for it! If it was not a full set then the price would be too high for my liking

a minute hand like that draws the recent service into question. If it was recently serviced by rolex + all the goodies it's a great deal but it obviously wasn't Rolex who put that minute hand on there
