2014 INCOMINGS...My Perfect Trio

I have made quite a few adjustments to my collection during the last six months or so and I feel like my three newest watches have a great sense of harmony and balance both in form and in function.

Here are my thoughts and a couple pics that I took this morning of my new power trio...

Explorer I 214270
This watch really surprised me. When I bought it, I thought that perhaps it would be a catch-and-release, but it has grown into one of my favorite daily wear pieces. I love the matte dial and it has great symmetry, is extraordinarily comfortable and is a perfect modern update to a historical icon. It is the ultimate go-anywhere, do-anything watch.

WG Submariner 116619LB
This watch was on my radar for nearly two years before I finally pulled the trigger. It not only met, but exceeded my expectations. As a huge Submariner fan (I currently own three) this is just about as good as it gets for me. I typically wear this one on Fri/Sat/Sun.

GMT Master II 116710BLNR
This is the newest member of my collection (I have owned it for about a week) and it is amazing. It took me nearly a year to see one in person at the AD and when I finally saw one...I had to take it home. Lots of visual interest, classic looks, very comfortable and a bold splash of color....what more could one ask for?

Thanks for looking!

Couldn't agree more with your comment on the Explorer. It looks so much better seeing it in flesh and is an exceptional yet understated piece.

Great collection!

Lovely trio!

And makes me smile how some people say you can't tell the difference between a SS and WG watch! Yes the difference is subtle but it's clear that nice warm look of WG

All three are great watches. Your comments about the BLNR are spot on. Too bad it took so long for you to get one.

Your WG Sub looks fantastic.

Thanks, Samuel! It was your PM earlier this morning that inspired this post. The difference between WG and SS is even more pronounced in person:)

Very nice trio! The WG Sub is very very nice. And the Explorer, I couldn't agree with you more! It is the perfect all rounder.

Have you paid attention to accuracy at all? I'm curious how many seconds daily they each vary?

Unfortunately the lust of WG is something I have to admire in pictures, but I still have a couple of mighty fine SS pieces.

For some reason the following backstory for your collection popped into my head:

An Explorer and a Smurf fell in love and had a brilliant, precocious child they named Batman.
