9 year old Daytona just back from RSC in Dallas

I handed my 9 year old SS black dial Daytona into the RSC in Dallas 5 weeks ago full of the usual dings and scratches after daily wear for most of that time. Got it back on Friday and it looks amazing after a full overhaul and refinishing. To me, it looks just like a brand new watch. Not cheap at just over $1,000 but definitely worth it for such a quality job and now it's ready for the next 9 years of wear, tear and desk dives!

I will post some pics up on Wednesday as I am traveling (and wearing my AP)until then.

Funny you should say "time to flip" as I considered it as I haven't worn it much in the past 6/9 months but I reckon its a keeper as it has always been my grail Rolex.

Andy: Of course, I think you know I was just kidding about flipping, but it does raise questions when a watch we (rightfully in the case of a stainless steel Daytona) consider to be a "grail" watch, no longer gets "wrist time." What happens, I think is WIS' like knowing they have a "grail" and that they can "see it" in their watch case.....and when they think about parting, well it is "such sweet sorrow" that they keep it, till the itch comes back and Watch Fever Strikes.

Be Well, and enjoy that Daytona!

The ability to send your Rolex away and have it come back looking like new is, I think, one of the best things about Rolex watches. Here's to the next nine years!

They charge $990 to service the movement and toss in the polish for free?

Wow, not bad.
Were there any gouges/pits that the service could not restore?

No - they got them all out. There was a pretty big scratch on the side of the case below the 9 o clock but it's not there anymore.

I've read other good posts about RSC recently so it sounds like it's worth it.

I've seen some bad refinished of white gold Daytona bezels where the black is faded/rubbed off and the numbers are no longer sharp. Has anyone had that experience post-RSC or does everyone just opt for bezel replacement?

$1k? wow I thought it was half that. I guess it depends on the watch.
