Rolex vs. Seiko
Here is an article I saw in Forbes. I can't wait to read your thoughts.

Djokovic left AP and he's dead to me now.
Seriously the Seiko Astron is a great piece. |

The Astron GPS is the watch I will buy when I retire and take my around the world trip, as it syncs with the local GPS (you push a button to ask for the process to take place) and it knows every square meter on the globe by Time Zone and then adjusts. Simply amazing, plus it's fantastic looking. The new models are slightly smaller (I think "down to 42 mm", not 100% sure) so that's the direction I'd go.

+1; I'm sure it's all about $$$$$ for sure and nothing to do with the watches.

My Astron is handy for setting the time on other watches.
But I think Seiko should have sprung for a solid gold Astron and not a plated one.

If someone paid me enough I would wear a hello kitty watch.
Which apparently is only one step away from the white dialed Daytona so I am on my way. From my Note 2 running AllianceROM 25 |

Pretty poorly written article, but at least she linked to that interview with Fed showing off 3 special pieces in his collection. Kind of interesting that he practices with a DJ, and that he's got a birth year watch. I thought only TRFers were prone to collecting those. |

I've had Rolex's, Patek, L&S and many high end brand watches.
Oh…! and yes, Seiko's. Of the two Seiko's I have left this, my tool watch, dates from about 1980'ish. All I've ever done to it in all that time is replace the battery. Don't no one deride Seiko in presence... Rolex vs Seiko…..Seiko every time, such a pity about the name though Img_0754 by Dave in Wales, on Flickr |

My Seiko Black Monster is my go-to mechanical beater watch.
The 7S26 movement may be crude by Rolex standards or even by other standards - but it is robust and, not unlike the ETA 2824, it can be repaired just about anywhere in the world. For what it's worth, the Black Monster's bracelet is a very nice example of rugged form and function.

Seiko is a fine company that makes great watches.
Not everything in life needs to be a contest, enjoy things for what they are.

My Seiko 5 was given to me more than 20 years ago and it still works, never been serviced.

Big fan of Djokovic and big fan of Grand Seiko.
Now, don't think all the famous actors, tennis players......have contracts to wear their favorite watches. They also sometimes wear something différent as soon as they are not in official representation. |
