Owning a Sub & GMT
Ive seen in some pictures around this forum of people owning a Sub and a GMT at the same time. Aren't they too much similar to each other to have both? THe same bracelet, same style bezel (apart from the numbers printed on it), same clasp, same hour and minute hands.....For me if i own two watches they gotta look completely different to one another (which is y i own a DDII and a Sub). I love the sub (and hence the GMT), its my fav Rolex...but i still can't picture myself owning both.

Depends on your tastes... no right or wrong answer!
But I agree with you. The only way I could see a sub and gmt in my collection is if they are different metals and different colors- i.e. SS sub with black dial and yg gmt with green dial. |

I own both and it's no problem, believe me.
![]() True, my GMT is SS and YG but I didn't get it because the SS would be too similar, just like the GMT in TT. ![]() I would agree that both in SS doesn't really expand your wardrobe any, but short of formal wear I'm not one of those that carefully chooses my watch depending on what clothes I'm wearing.

They look similar you're correct and I would choose the SubC personally. They look different enough when you where it though

Different bezel; different functions, different bracelets, different case shapes; aside from both telling time, they are two entirely different watches.

I know there's a tendency here to view watches as a function of fashion to some degree, but the Sub and the GMT are two different watches with two different functions in mind.
Certainly they both tell time, but the the premise behind each is vastly different. It's the evolution we have now from function to luxury. ![]() |

This is a hobby where even minor differences in the dial or bezel insert font/spacing/color make a huge difference in perceived worth. And you're asking about two completely different watch models, one of which has a complication the other does not? People own multiple Subs and multiple GMTs. Owning a Sub and a GMT is no big deal at all.

I only own two watches, a TT Sub and a GMT. I think they look quite different.

I own an older sub date model (z) and a GMT IIC. Yes, I guess superficially they are similar, but to they are very different.

Those who have the submariner and submariner date, I wonder what they would say since it's even much more alike than a sub compared to the GMT.
I've seen owners with the 116610LN and 114060! |
