Err buddy Krattzz...if Orchi may say so...it being an early 80s release...it really depends on what the watch has got...n its overall conditions...

Perhaps more details n a few pics of the watch could be obtained here...then it would be easier to assess its value.

The pictures are really poor, but the case looks to be in pretty good condition. Because it's a glossy dial (which I prefer too), it should not be worth $4.5K.

I personally would pass unless the seller would budge a bit on the price.

Thanks for the link...are you the Seller of that watch? Please advise...

Nonetheless...as per Orchi's own standpoint n opinions...not withstanding other concerns about the watch...1st of all that watch should have the Original Matte "Tritium" Dial...instead.

That said...finding the availability of replacement for the correct Matte Dial...would be as hard as climbing up this here coconut tree...n the costs of getting it...could be equivalent to 500 or more barrels of Toddy that Orchi is trying to harvest...err...right now.

So if it was upto Orchi to decide...Orchi would have to give that watch...some serious thoughts.

That 5513 falls into the glossy era and could very well be originally glossy. It looks like a tritium dial, not a luminova replacement, so the dial and hands could be original.

Still, the bottom line is that glossy 5513s do not sell for anywhere near as much as matte versions.

Err buddies...Orchi was made to believe...with this article...that from late 7 millions n prior to Mid 8 Millions series...the 5513 would have "Type V Matte Dial"...

That said...Orchi won't discount the possibility that the Gloss WG surround Dial could have been a standard service replacement put on that watch...subsequently.

Minus the possibility of mistakes from that article...Orchi could take a shot at that 5513...if it was slightly cheaper...

Some thoughts.

That serial number puts the watch on the bubble. Tom's article is a history of the maxi-dial and cites the type V maxi as the last of the type. As with Rolex crossover is a fact of life, it's seems possible both dial types could have been used, but to be correct the matt/maxi would have to fall into a very narrow range.

Just from the look of a bad photo, I tend to agree with applebook. The price might be a bit strong.

Perhaps you guys can enlighten me on this one. I understand paying a premium for a matte dial 5513 w/o applied markers.

But WHY pay a premium for a gloss dial 5513, when it is almost indistinguishable from a 14060, which you can get easily preowned under 3K (or maybe a little over for one from a watchmaker with a warranty).

Err thanks buddy Bo...thought it might give Orchi the ancient look...heheheeeee

Agree with you n buddy Anastasios...Orchi would give that watch a shot if it was cheaper...which leaves a good option for Orchi to expand its potential with the on going Matte Dial frenzy...
