Passed on a BLNR

Was getting something done at my AD and he had a still in it's box BLNR in stock. Took a close look, and long enough to know I prefer my GMT LN. It's obviously a great watch, but not for me.

Also looked at an Explorer 1 and loved everything about it - minimalist, no date, and far enough under the radar as to be unnoticeable - that I can see it will be the next addition to the stable.

I agree with you..

I do not find the blue and black bezel very attractive at all.

The blnr is pretty easy to come by now. Pretty much every ad has one in stock. I like it, passed on it for a LV sub. That said could see it joining me sometime down the road. Agree with the your opinion on the Exp 1. That was my first nice watch, and it is just so elegant and understated.

The BLNR sure seems popular, but if it's not for you, it's an easy decision to leave it in the AD display case.

Funny to me how folks post the BLNR not doing for them. I would guess 90% of the Rolex line is not for me but ......

To each his own. I would not argue with any man's taste, but I will say this.

You really have no idea what the BNLR bezel insert is like, unless you've seen it under a variety of lighting conditions.

I like the blue/black, personally, as one is likely to see it in pictures, but as I write this I'm sitting at my desk with a lamp on with all the light reflecting off the walls and ceiling.

Under these conditions, it looks like an LN and there are various other effects as well.

However, given enough white light, you can't get away from the fact that it is a BLNR.

Seriously? We're all adults here, the BLNR is one of the popular new models, the OP posted he saw it and wasn't impressed. Did that really cross the politically correct line in a watch forum? Give me a break.

If you live in a highly populated area, this might be true, but if you live off the beaten path, they're not so abundant.

Of course, while I had to wait six weeks for mine to come in, I could have gotten one from a "trusted seller" in a few days.

They're not rare, but I wouldn't say that the market is flooded, either.

Agreed. Interestingly I see more of the new SDs than the BLNR.

For me I prefer an older Pepsi or a newer SubC. I also don't get much in terms of thrills from the Blue and Black. For those that like them; it seems like a great watch but not the color combo in my mind's eye.

My AD has yet to see his first SD. That's how out of the way we are. However, we are at the crossroads of I-40 and I-25 and we have an international airport.

We just don't have the population.

Been there a number of times and even toured some of the surrounding Pueblos. A great area. Just down the road from Santa Fe.

There's no place on Earth I'd rather be than ABQ. Part of the reason I can buy Rolex watches is that now that my parents are gone, every time I think about traveling, I think about it for a second and go, "Naw!"

Maybe later, I'll feel like it, but for now, I'm good.

To OP, I went in to purchase an BLNR, and ended up with a DJ II several months ago.

I suppose that's why Rolex makes so many models! Not my particular cup of tea, but know it will be a very popular model, as are many.

The BLNR looks amazing. It's subtle in most lighting conditions, but I certainly prefer it over the all black.

I was at the Rolex store in Chicago today. They had one of everything except a BLNR.

All 6 sky dwellers.
Platinum daytona
White gold sub
New sea dweller.
