Need help for DRSD

Looks pretty good to me - you'd have to check that the numbers in the case-back and on the case side match; if they do, it's a later one (up to about 5.2 mil/circa '77/'78) just before the white-text dials ('great white') were released, I believe. This would be consistent with the MK IV dial.

Why it still glow in the dark?
How much should I pay for??

Possible re-lume; hard to tell from those pics. Can't say a price, especially if the dial isn't in original condition. It also depends how much/long it glows, as many of the old tritium dials still emit some glow...

So it is likely a relumed mk 4 DRSD with a transitional case back. A quick peek at the inside of the case back will tell you if it is original to the watch.

yes, that's what I thought - some of these 'last' double reds used the case-backs which were then used on the whites, i.e., 'Rolex' in circular configuration with the rest of the text, as opposed to straight across, which is how the earlier ones were made.

Yep, Vincent. The very last of the DRSDs. Mine has the "curved" case back. I purchased it in the spring of 1978 at Bucherer's in Geneva for $564.00.

Beaumont, I will pick it up at the bank vault later this week or first of next week and gladly get that info. I still have the receipt. For a long time there was debate about whether the transitional models were DRSDs or Great Whites that had been modified. Ed Delgado and his folks put that issue to rest a few years back. Besides pictures I've posted on here, mine also is pictured on Ed's website.

Thanks, Vincent! That was one of my best investments, ever. Due to no fault of my own, I might add. My only better investment was $300 I spent on a bunch of MACV SOG Recon Team patches at Cecil Smythe's shop on Hay St., Fayetteville, NC in 1974. I sold them for almost $30K in 2010 and rolled it over into, guess what...??
