Staying on Magnificent Mile.

Have a drink at the Signature room. (Hancock building) Don't eat there. Eat lot's of Chicago pizza! Best "pizza" ever!

Beer! Goose Island. Plenty of it.

U got the right idea!

I was thinking of a nice steak dinner (is Chicago magazine's recommendations to be relied on?) on Sun night, perhaps a pub crawl later with her friends?

I am surprising her with tickets to a Cubs game (she is a big MLB fan)....

Yea I DEF wanna try some deep dish, perhaps for lunch on Mon?

Any nice pubs/night clubs? Not sure if we are gonna wanna do more of cocktails and suits or more tshirts and jeans kinda place....

Steak/Pub try the Westin right opposite of the Hancock building. We stayed there, and NEVER eat at our hotel... This time we did, and man was it good!!!! (Disclosure, the restaurant is at the hotel, but not the hotel's own) The place is called "The Grill". Good Beer selection on tap too! Many hours spent while Eva was shopping.

With that little time, I'd concentrate on places relatively close to one another. Trying to get from one side of town to the other can be a big waste of time, especially in a town like Chicago where great restaurants and bars are everywhere.

Try Gibsons if you want a great steak dinner. It's one of the oldest steak places in Chicago and still among the best. Check it on Zagat.

Steak. Joes Stone Crab. There one in Miami, one in Vegas, and the other in Chicago. Go for the 16oz bone in filet. Best. Steak. Ever.

Lou Malnati's for their famous deep dish pizza. GT Oysters - one of the best seafood places ever. Skip Hot Doug's (over-rated) and Alinea (molecular gastronomy is weird).

Oh and if time allows, I thought the river tour was very cool. You get to learn a lot about Chicago's architectural history.

I agree with Lou Malnatis. It's the best! Many will say otherwise, and so will the line outside, but you won't be disappointed. Good service too.

I studied in Chicago - wondering if Banderas is still around? My absolutely favorite restaurant for a night out!

Wrigleyville post-game is quite a party... Clubs will be pretty quiet on a Sunday but the atmosphere near the stadium is close. For fine dining try girl and the goat of you can get in.

Was in Chicago a couple weeks ago. Did the comparison between Malnati's and Girodino's. Preferred Malnati's. Gibson's is nice-or about anywhere on Rush Street. Hugo's is a fun bar. Be sure to walk by Gold Coast Bentley and check out the rides. Nice red Veyron sitting in there.

The SkyDeck is pretty cool. Probably not something I'd do again, but glad I did it once.

Go to the Rolex store on the mile that is where I bought my one and only Rolex. I'm not trying to hurt any fillings but Chicago pizza did not do t for me or my wife, to much dough.

Sadly Gerardo Morton's has been completely neutered by the Landry Group, their ownership has steered the once proud and storied franchise right into insignificance. There used to be two Morton's in Boston, now there is just one and it's empty, even on a Saturday night. Maybe the original in Chicago is different but everywhere else, they are pointless destinations IMHO.

Tragically sad...

Gene and Gorgetti or Mastros for steak.
Bandaras is still open.
The staff at the Rolex boutique are idiots, I would go to cartier and omega for more knowledgable staff IMHO.
Since you are on Mi ave go to UNOs or Gino's east for deep dish.

I have to second Gino's East if you want Deep Dish. Since you will be near Wrigley field there is also Dimo's Pizza. Not deep dish but crazy good pizza and not your normal pizza. An example: Texas Two step which is BBQ chicken, black beans, corn, and mozzarella on a creme base, topped with tortilla chips, cilantro-lime mayo, and poblano peppers or The Mac which is macaroni noodles and cheddar cheese on a homemade crème fraiche base.

A really good restaurant on Mich. Ave is called Purple Pig. I highly recommend it. Sometimes hard to get into but well worth it. I second Girl and a Goat but probably can't get in with such short notice. And if you want a steak then definitely Gibson's as others have suggested.

If you're a cigar or pipe smoker make your way to Iwan Ries & Co. @ 19 S. Wabash Ave. 2nd Floor (take the elevator)(Closed on Sundays). Not far from where your staying. A few blocks away from the Art Institute of Chicago and the Millennium Park. Fantastic old world tobacconist with some unique humidors, one of the best selections anywhere and a great smoking lounge where you can meet some interesting people from around the world. While in the area if you like gentleman's Fedora's stop at Optimo @ 320 S. Dearborn. Hand made and fantastic quality. Last when in Chicago I never miss an opportunity to spend a night at Buddy Guy's Legends club @ 700 S. Wabash. Lot's of other good clubs in town I just like the not to pretentious feel of this place. If you sit at the bar your might end up in a conversation with the man himself. Have fun.
