Thoughts on a Daytona Trade

I have a TT Daytona with the Blue Arabic dial and red sub hands. I am thinking of either trading it for the same but with the solid gold case and leather band or the RG with ceramic bezel and Ivory dial. Any thoughts and opinions, pros and cons? Thanks in advance.

I would not as I don't like straps, it's too hot and humid where I live. And I also think the daytona looks silly on a strap. For me no way.

Ceramic RG is one if the most beautiful Daytonas ever. So are the WG slate/black and the platona.

I would rather see you get a bracelet model and then put it on a strap. Makes the watch much for versatile.

I love my 116518 and after years of babying the leather straps, I wear it in all weather now, even the hot humid heat of the Japanese August. It is by far my most comfortable watch. I don't need any validation of my watches by others, but I always get the most compliments about my watch when I am wearing the 116518. I believe I traded a TT Daytona for it many years ago.

Tough one, I am a fan of all three watches so I say just go for whichever one feels and looks the best to you.

You have one of the nicest daytonas IMHO. The ceramic dial and strap is nice but far prefer the chocolate dial.

I like the blue dial with solid gold and leather, but my favourite Daytona is the ceramic with chocolate dial, 116515 how I love thee.......

IMO, you have one of the best dials on a TT.
But I would trade any TT for a random-serial SS. Obviously you will need to add cash for YG or RG, but if straight 1 for 1 then it's a no brainer.

Personally I prefer bracelet models, and they will accept a leather strap. Not the other way around (can't put bracelet on strap model). In sunny California USA it's easy for me to work up a sweat in summer and fall. Not great for the life expectancy of a leather strap!
So I would keep what you have. However, I understand what it's like to want to upgrade or change. Given that, if the Everose looks good on your skin, I would go for that one (on my pale/pink skin it washes out). Still, I'd hold out for a bracelet model if po$$ible!

I prefer bracelets, but am not a big fan of TT Daytonas (I don't know why as I like the TT Subs). Do whatever makes you happy. A no-lose situation.

Thanks for the opinions and comments. I have to speak to my AD for pricing first but wanted some opinions of current owners. How often does the leather strap need replacing? Does anyone use their strap Rolex on a daily basis?

Go with the 116515. It's an absolutely stunning piece. I owned the chocolate dial for a while.
