If he offered to sell it well below the asking price then it would be a fair price.

But the dial is a variation I don't recall seeing on a SS DJ. Someone with a better dial database from the '70's may be helpful.

Dial isn't right
Lume markers on the dial but none on the hands
For what it is the asking price is far too high.
eBay = walk away + don't look back

The hands are a more modern style so most likely they have been replaced, but what's wrong with the dial..?

I don't believe the dial is original to the watch
For that and the fact you have lume markers on the dial but not the hands the watch is priced well above what it's worth and the member that has had this offered to him can do a whole lot better for the price.
