Happy b-day John, have a great one pal. I am feeling your pain about the sleep pal. Dylan decided to practice his high dive out of his bed at 1:30 am.

I was going to wish you happy birthday but since you are throwing the party at my house without me, well I've changed my mind.

Hope you have a good day John.

Thanks all...

LM, if she did, I'd be flipping it PDQ and getting something that I like.

That makes me so sad, Johnny. You're the only one here who doesn't like it. Come on, pal, what's NOT to like about this beauty?

JJ to be honest, it is a very attractive watch, BUT
For me , I need more contrast between the hands & the face.
Maybe it's my failing eyesight.
I went looking for the Crosswind around here, but no luck. They don't even show them in my Breitling catalogue.

Sorry JJ, but the only Breitling that does it for me is the Navitimer, but even then I would never buy one (possibly a 50s or 60s vintage).. but not a recent or current one.

What I don't like on the non-navitimers is the bezel, the buttons and the dials don't do much for me.

They've never been a watch that smiles at me. But that's what makes this hobby so much fun... it smiles at other people and makes them happy. Some think the black ExpII is fugly... I think it's the best Rolex ever manufactured. That's my opinion. You mileage, however, may vary.

That's 'cause the Crosswind has been discontinued and replaced by the Chronomat Evolution model 139. Check this link:

http://www.alanfurman.com/noframes/b...l#br_windrider

Virtually everything is the same, except that the pushers are now screw-down and the WR rating has been increased from 100 m to 300 m. All else is the same...especially the all important B13 movement....the Valjoux 7750.

That's why you got such a good deal, JJ. It's a used up model. They figured if they offered at a low enough price some sucker would walk in and take it off their hands.

The only one?!? Sorry JJ, make that 2 of us.........it's really not my style at all, but I'm glad that you sort, kinda, tolerate it.......LOL!

Okay, I admit that you complain much less about it now that you run that chrono hand all the time........
