The Explorer 2 club
I found a thread for the explorer 1 but not the explorer 2. Exp 2 (old and new) owners - post away! Love to hear about ownership experiences, different strap combinations, etc.

Not the best pic of the watch but it's me playing the blues with my white Exp II.

Started with a 16570 in 2012, loved it but flipped it for a 216570 in 2013 and love it even more. I appreciate the refinements including solid links, blue chromalight lume, 3187 movement, paraflex shocks, easylink clasp, more legible dial for my old eyes, larger crown and the added wrist presence and weight the 216570 brings to the table. The large size does take some getting used to, however.

Here's a nice article that addresses some of the changes made to the EXPII 216570.http://minus4plus6.com/216570.htm

The 216570 black was my first and, for now, my only. Not only do I appreciate the 3187 it's got under the hood, but it's the most legible watch I've ever owned - bar none - and I've never seen another one in the wild.

Explorer II threads already exist in numerous forms with pages and pages of responses and pictures. From the Explorer II Enigma thread with almost 1,500 posts (last post just last week) to endless exchanges on polar dial or black, 40mm or 42mm. Not saying this shouldn't be here, but maaan.

Just picked up a rubber b strap. Pricey, but it is well made and fits nicely. |

Love my 16570. I wear this piece for the majority of my outdoor activities and travel because of the GMT function. Very comfortable too. The white dial and red GMT hand are classic.

Been wearing this for 2 weeks straight. Yesterday I used my Yachtmaster but put this back on right when I got home. A lot of my watches are "all-around" but this is the most comfortable. I have other comfy watches, like my titanium Seiko Shogun but it's more tool oriented. I also have more "charismatic" watches like my flashier YM, bronze Halios, couple of vintages and an Anonimo DDate but they're just not as comfy or versatile. If I bought this watch for college I don't think I would've gotten into collecting at all.
