The New Sea-Dweller.....

I like it..

Maxi-dial....more meat everwhere......

It is now set apart from the Sub and not just a deeper version of the same watch...

The date window that mirrors the opposite indice marker is great. full markers around the bezel....I love it...........

The rehaut writing tells you it means business.

And that new depth rating....12,800ft, wow.....These can sit at the bottom of the sea for years..

I never wanted a SD before.....I want one now.....

Count me in. I like it and I'm getting one.

Could be wrong, but it looks like it has a matte dial too.

Yeah, not a fan either. Infact, I'm not a fan of anything Rolex is releasing this year. The Daytona is not bad I suppose, but overall I think this years offering is underwhelming.

I do like as well. But recently I have been "in to" the chunkier pieces so I am happy I waited on an SD purchase!

It's ok. It's one big blocky bastid for sure. I hear somewhere that its $8,000.

But all that writing, for all to see. There's more room on the case back. I guess Rolex needs to assert itself.

This picture is an illustration of what the water pressure does at a depth of 12,500 feet. Both of the little cups were once 12 ounce coffee cups like the cup on the right. The cup in the middle was subjected to the ambient pressure at a depth of 12,460 feet (6000psi) on a dive to Titanic. The cup on the left was subjected to the ambient pressure on a dive to 16,000 feet (8,000psi).

If you were wearing the new Rolex Deep Sea on either of these dives, your head would look like the cup long before your watch did. Cheers!

Sorry, very disappointing.

Having said that, wonder what modifications have been made to the bracelet and the clasp?

I don't remember, but was there as much resistance to the GMTIIC when it was released?
There seems to be a lot of early hatred towards the DSSD.

Excellent! More supply for those that want one.

i think it looks awesome and i want one. i just hope they dont make the cost prohibitive--i think 8 grand would be ludicrous.
