Changing Date in GMT MASTER II
It's not advised to change the date between 10.00-15.00 some say 12.00-15.00.Well, my question does it also apply to Rolex GMT MASTER II BLNR or any other Rolex GMT II watches ?
Ulysse Nardin has a patent to protect the watch movement against such hard tasks . How about Rolex ? |

Not a watchmaker but my understanding is it no problem. Think about it, since the date change function is tied to the hand set the only way to change the date on a GMTII is when the watch is right around midnight.

The date on Rolex GMT movements 3085, 3185, 3186, 3187 can be adjusted forward and/or backward at anytime without damage.

Yep, with the GMTII there is no separate date change function. The only way to change the date is via moving the hand(s) through midnight either when setting the minutes or the jump 12 hour hand. So there is really no way to avoid changing the date except at the midnight hour. Given the jump hour hand is only a "quasi" quick set for the date, thankfully you can scroll through the dates in either direction.

However, it turned out to be it didn't .Instead as you said jump 12 hour hand came to my rescue . In general , setting date is not as fast as other watches but I still somewhat find it cool . I mean in other watches pull the crown and you can rapidly go thru dates |
