$1 million for Eisenhower's DJ!

Eisenhowers DJ which was piece 150,000 from Rolex is on the chopping block on 9/17. Slated to start at $100k. How much do you think it will go for? Doesnt Rolex need to purchase these piece of legacy at any cost? I say $1 million! :) http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/on-the-...-auctioned-off

Maybe I ll buy it and send it to Rolex for service. Do you think they will change the dial and hands for me?

Not the man himself but the likeness intended by Rolex.

Pieces like this belong in a museum to be enjoyed by all.

They did for Ike. I think I read so where he sent it in for service in the 60s and a service dial was installed.

Since most collectors won't consider a watch with a service dial, I'll gladly bail out the current owner and give home $1000 for the watch. Out of the kindness of my heart.

The significance of THAT watch is immeasurable really. What it eventually commands in terms of dollars is anybody's guess. But it will be significant.
