Daytona 116520 discontinued ?

Hello
One very well known dealer in Paris told me he just bought a SS daytona116520 for himself because
he thought ( may be he knew ) they will no longer be produced .
He thinks a new model will be issued

Have you infos ?
And what could be the new model you would like?

And they will also discontinue the Sub due to lack of demand? Tell the dealer that since it is being discontinued, you are no longer interested and he thus lost the sale. Then buy one on this site.

Nonsense... In time it will be discontinued IMO as they will introduce a ceramic bezel version however I believe we are still a few years off.

Ceramic bezel on SS: wishful thinking. Rolex will protect the uniqueness of its precious metal models.

While I agree with that as a general statement, I'm not sure that means only the PM models will get a ceramic bezel at all - the Sub and GMT are precedents for ceramic bezels across the model range. The other reason I'm not sure about this is that I found it interesting that with the Platona they came out with a uniquely colored bezel rather than a standard black one. Makes me think this gives them wiggle room to throw a more standard black bezel on the stainless model, much like they differentiate the WG Subs and GMTs via either the dial, the bezel, or both.

All that said however, I'm not sure it will happen anyway. The metal bezel of the Daytona has been such a key styling feature of the watch for so long. With the Sub and GMT it was easier in that the switch to ceramic didn't change the look of the watch as dramatically as it does on the Daytona.

The new model will have modified Invicta movement, lexan bezel, and a chrome over base metal case. I've already pre-ordered.

Am I the only one thinking that this has something to relate with the world's famous French wine?
