Stopped By The Wynn Las Vegas...

Okay, the Wynn Las Vegas is a watch Mecca. Every major high-end watch brand must be represented here. If you are ever in Vegas, stop by and check it out. I was specifically looking to visit the Rolex store there. I asked if this store was a "Rolex Boutique" and the sales rep I worked with couldn't give me a straight answer. Yet everything about the shop spoke "boutique". All the cases and interior design are identical to the Rolex boutique in SLC.

The Rolex inventory here is huge, and so a good place to see the breadth of the Rolex line. Additionally, in the back of the store is a small "museum" with the same interesting exhibits - I was not seriously whelmed. But here is what stuck me. I was wearing my 14060 Submariner at the time. In the museum there was a submariner from 1955. I was taken by just how little the Submariner has changed in almost 60 years. I love the timelessness of Rolex design.

Was just there last week and I agree.

The Wynn store rights across from the Rolex store is also very well stocked.

What I hate about Vegas is how arrogant the salespeople are, I have never come across a good and knowledgeable one.

Can't disagree with that statement, as I think Las Vegas is not conducive to long term sales relationships. And yes, the Wynn Watch store across the way is another must see.

I did learn a few things from the Rolex sales guy I met, which I'd like TRF to confirm:
1) Rolex has reduced the breadth of choices in dials over the last few years. I think this particularly applies to the DJ lines and maybe Daytona.

2) Curiously, when Rolex updated the 16622 YM to 116622 a few years ago, they chose not to update the 16623, YG/SS. What up with that? This must me one of, if not the only 5 digit reference left in the sport lineup.

I had an equally unsatisfying experience when I was there awhile back. I usually prefer to not just window shop.

I've cruised by the Wynn before while in Vegas. I was looking more like an urban camper than a rolex buyer.

I was treated great and the lady I worked with brought out quite a few gold models for me to try.

If all they sell are Rolex watches and no other watches or jewelry, then it's a boutique.

Definitely a boutique by the looks of it.

I'm heading over there from the UK in April and can't wait to check that place out!

I don't mind the Vegas stores but I go to Utah or Hawaii for deals as there are no deals in Vegas. I wish there were but 5% off or full price is the norm.

Stayed at the Wynn / Encore eight times now nd always visit the Rolex Boutique at least twice during our stay.
Last time was in April over Easter I met and chated with their watchmaker who was very friendly and seemed to truly like to spend time with you.
He gave me a copy of issue one of the Rolex magazine.
The Wynn / Encore is truly a watch lovers paradise, you can't get a deal there but the selection is amazing.

Yes, they sell only Rolex. And no other watches or jewelry, and they have the Rolex museum, which at present, exists in only one other place. (In china?)

Can't for the life of me understand why the sales rep would not admit (or deny) to me that this store is a Rolex Boutique. He kept saying it was owned by the Winn. I don't think that disqualifies it as Boutique, because in Salt Lake City, the Boutique is part of OC Tanner.

Steve Wynn himself refers to it as the Rolex Boutique

I just noticed this the other day. I love this two tone model but could not find a six digit equivalent.

Agreed, I don't think who owns it has a anything to do with it - someone's got to own it, it might as well be Wynn. BTW, I suppose it's possible that a store might be an AD that sells only Rolex watches but is not officially a boutique. I've not been to every AD worldwide but in my neck of the woods ADs do not sell Rolex exclusively. They are basically high end jewelers that are licensed to carry Rolex. But in Vegas at the Wynn, you can be pretty darn sure that store has official boutique status. As far as the salesperson not giving you a straight answer, it's entirely possible they were selling used cars last week and had no idea what you were even talking about.

Very similar experience most times I've been in there or most shops in Vegas. I'm sure they see their fair share of idiots that don't help. :-))

No DSSD D Blue when I was there. He said they got two the day they were introduced and sold right away.

The Rolex store at the Wynn Las Vegas describes itself as the Wynn Rolex Boutique according to its business card.

My wife were there about two weeks ago and I walked away with my first Rolex, a submariner no date. We were on the receiving end of exceptional customer service, courtesy of Philip the sales associate who was very helpful and offered us every assistance with what was, for me, a stressful, albeit enjoyable time! I even got to write out my own warranty card.

We highly recommended popping in if you find yourself in Las Vegas.

I have actually been treated very well at all the stores I've stopped by at the Wynn and Caesar's Palace. The Rolex AD at the Wynn fixed my wife's DJ bracelet that happened to have slipped out due to an unsecured pin, and offered a bottle of water as we waited, and no pressure to look around.
