Derek Jeter Hits Walk-Off Single in Bottom of the Ninth

What a finish! For Jeter to be in the position to get the game-winning hit, the O's had to score 3 in top of 9th, and the Yanks had to get runner to 2nd with 1 out. A story book ending to his career at Yankee Stadium.

Not the least bit surprised he'd go out that way.

Does anyone remember his 3000th hit? With that in mind, how can anyone be surprised?

that was unbelievable! To blow the save on a 5-2 lead giving up 2 HRs and to setup the bottom of the 9th for Jeter to bat with man in scoring position? Ridiculous. This is why I love baseball so much. I'm a mental Dodgers fan, but I did watch this game and have great admiration for Derek. I'm glad it ended for him in this way. Couldn't have been any better.

Being a die hard Met fan, I can honestly say I missed my 1st met game last night to watch the whole yankee game!! And being such a baseball fan, I will say My eyes welled up, and a tear rolled down my cheek to see this amazing finish!!! In my eyes there will never be another baseball player that can match his professionalism!! What more can be said.

Almost Ted Williamsesque

As a die hard Sox, fan. Good for Jeter

Best line ever! Jeter is class, Obermann is an a**!

Thanks Jeet for all of the great memories and for giving our kids a great sports role model.
