Two-tone Jubilee SEL gold peeled off

Hi guys! My wife has a two-tone datejust with jubilee bracelet. We just noticed that the gold part of one solid end link seemed to have peeled off. It's just black. I want to know if anyone here has a similar experience. For an expensive watch I did not expect this to happen. It seems the gold part is just glued. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

Where did you acquire this watch? I only ask because it sounds like you may have gotten an aftermarket gold plated bracelet with it, or even worse.....

There should be a letter in front of that serial number...looks like someone has written an 'A' there? The numbers alone date the watch to early 1960s, and neither the watch nor paper are that early.

On some older Rolex parts, solid strips of gold were bonded to steel. Such an example are some 16613 clasps.

The first letter of the serial number is A so it's year 1998.

The "A" is written in pencil.

Very observant, sir. I wonder if it was written with a Rolex pencil.

I do hope the best for you, however the 'A' written in pencil is shocking!

You should take off the bracelet and check the serial number on the case. Probably different to the one on the paper I suspect.

Bring it to the RSC in Makati. They'll take care of everything for you there

This is good advise. I've used the RSC Makati on several occasions and found it to be excellent.
