Are saying? is Seamaster the Top of the Line?

Hello friends
I'm about to enter the world Omega and Panerai. But here I focus only on Omega and I can not decide. I think I'll decide for a Seamaster. Is this the most prized collection line? I like watches with leather bracelet. Are saying?

If you want a top of the line Omega with a leather band, check out the Speedmaster Lunar Dust

- Fully ceramic case, bezel, pushers, crown, etc...
- Platinum dial
- In-house 9300 co-axial movement
- 44mm

Beautiful!

Keep in mind the Seamaster line has many different models (Aqua Terra, Planet Ocean, Professional, ect...) and each model has several variations. In my opinion, the Speedmaster Professional is the iconic Omega. If you're looking for an Omega that is respected by most watch enthusiasts that would be the one to get. However, is you want a watch that is very popular at the moment, that would be the Seamaster Planet Ocean 8500. However, the new SM 300 is very cool and has the latest Omega movement in it. Get that one if you want to turn heads.

The most important Omega that you can get new in box is the Speedmaster Professional 3570.50. There is a new version with a fancy box, but the serial number only Rain Man knows.

The go to Omega is traditionally the speedmaster. This would be for the person wanting the quintessential Omega. All that said there are many pieces made by Omega now days that ring that brands bell. The Planet Ocean is a great looking piece and is Omega throughout.

The reference number for the Speedmaster Professional is now 311.30.42.30.01.005.

http://www.omegawatches.com/collecti...31130423001005

It includes the "Special Box" and the bracelet has screws instead of pins in the removable links.

I wear a Speedy Pro and swap a Hirsch leather band on and off. However, I'd put a strong vote in for the Pie Pan Constellation on a leather band as an iconic Omega.

Yeah I've seen it, Jay. But thanks buddy. Unfortunately this new serial number can't be memorized the way I'm used to do with every watch I like, so it has the same advantage as screws and fancy box, which is zero. Omega is doing everything they can to avoid seeing my money lately.

Gorgeous, I must admit... But I still feel that there is too big of an "empty space" down around the 6 o'clock mark on the 9300 series...

May be I will get used to it down the road...

I think the dial layout is perfect. Try one on if you haven't already. You will love it.

It is theoretically a sea master...

But not what you instantly think of...

I agree! The Seamaster is a great watch! The Aqua Terra is beautiful! But the Speedmaster Pro is a legend!

If you are a dive enthusiast buy a Seamaster Pro 300, it has a groovy blue strap that matches the awesome bezel and dial. Too bad they dropped the wave dial but it is a stunning watch. If you like doodads, buy a Speedy, not as trendy as the SMP but definitely as step up.
