Question about the Hulk Sub

I'm sure this info is somewhere on the forums but recently I was at the AD and I was told by an associate that the green dial on the Hulk is actually a "green gold" alloy, but I can't seem to find that on Rolex's site which simply lists the dial as "green." Is there any truth to this? I know there's such a thing as green gold i.e. Electrum, however from what I've seen it looks nowhere near as green as the green dial on the Sub.

As I recall there is some gold in the green, same with the bluesy Sub, and this is what gives it the sunburst effect. I can't remember exactly where I came across this info though.

I believe the dial is gold in material and plated/colored with the green on top.

I recall a lot of discussion about this topic at one point. I think it was a marketing ploy and Rolex had to stop claiming it was gold. There may have been a very small amount of gold in it, not sure.

The dial is brass and painted with a mix that may have some gold in it (or at least a hint of gold coloring).. Their initial marketing of the dial as "green gold" may have been confusing that they have dropped it as it appears that they no longer refer to the Sub dial as anything but "green"

The weight of the LVc is the same as LN so it's unlikely there's any appreciable gold content.

There's gold in the green pigment, which is why it looks different in every kind of light and appears especially striking in sunlight. Here's an interesting thing: if you go to the Rolex website and watch the Rolex Way videos, in one you'll actually see the green dial being made and gold being sprinkled onto it. It happens quickly but it's there. I'm sure there are those on this forum will say it's just marketing BS, but I think this visually represents an actual production process.

From what I have read, I believe the surface of the dial is a mixture of gold and aluminum.

Regardless of how it is made the dial is truly a thing of eye candy beauty.
