Question on 1675 and 16750

My understanding the 16750 was made for only 3 years. If correct, why isn't this GMT more desireable/collectible compared with 1675?

It was made for 7 years. They're all desirable but rolex made many thousands of them. The 16760 GMT2 was only made for 5 years, still loads of them out there too

The matte-dialed 16750 was made up to approximately the 84XXXXX serial number range which would be around 4 1/2 years of production. You will also see the gold surrounds starting to appear in the 84XXXXX range. The gold surround dial markers were continued for a few more years after the matte dials were discontinued.

On the contrary, the matte dial 16750s are very collectible - more so than the later gold surround marker versions .

To John's point, the matte dial 16750s are very desirable. The quickset is nice.

Which is more collectible, 1675 or
1675?
1675 was made for more years and many more around, but it's older than 16750.
If I had to bet, 1675 is in higher demand and
has a higher market value, condition on both being similar.

It seems theses gmt's have more variables vs
5512/13/1680's. Greater agreed consensus on the Subs in terms of correct dials, hands, cases, etc.

I don't believe so - when compared to the 1675s and 16750s. More uninformed dealers and collectors would be my assumption.
The information is out there for both Sub dials and GMT dials if one takes the time to look for it.

IMHO which is more collectable opens all kinds of doors. There's a lot more variation in the 1675 than the 16750.

Equal matt white to equal matt white I's take the 16750 for the quick set and fast beat movement. I'd take an OYSTER PERPETUAL only dial over the DATE on the 16750.

However mix it up with gilt, radial, etc... and the 1675 wins assuming condition and correctness.

Part of collecting is the study and research that goes in to the reference. Heck put a blue insert 1675 in there and the whole thing goes upside down.

IMO it's the 1675.
