That's a beauty, but I'm saving my fantasy money for a 5517.

Wow is right!

Even though Rolex UK polished it in 2008 it looks like it's been in a safe for 35 years.

A breathtaking watch with an equally breathtaking price tag.

Yeah, definitely looks like a Luminova pearl; RSC at work again?

But, at least it is a GENUINE Rolex part.....

I'm sorry, but the prices on these comex watches have really entered orbit.

Watch like that for the select few ............

In the real world - Could get a box standard 1665 in as good as you could get from someone like andrew shear for a fraction of that price I bet

Sure but no comex. It's worth it IMO if u can afford it. Congratulation.

For some reason I don't care for the Comex dials. Love the history of them though.

It's nice to see the correct use of "grail", virtually unobtainable.

A proper synonym would be "unobtainium"; a rare earth mineral commonly used in the manufacture of these vintage watches!

Such a shame for this to have survived so long, in such overall good condition, with all original documentation, only to have the original domed crystal removed, replaced with a service T39 and luminova pearl, and then polished, by RSC.

That is also a grail for me.....but I would have to have a net worth SUBSTANTIALLY higher to ever go for something like that. It is spectacular though.

My friend just bought a vintage 911 turbo wide body for over 120k. Beautiful car but if given the choice, I would rather have this watch.

Yes on the Milsub, but I would rather have the Comex over a double red.

Interesting. : )

If I were a Comex diver I'd want one, but then again I'd probably already have one!

I can understand a diver wanting one but as far as aesthetics the Milsub and Double red look much better imo.

I know we would only be guessing here, but do you think whoever ends up buying this will actually wear it, or will it go into a safe.

If anyone here bought it, would you ever wear it? or keep it to preserve it?

I think if I could afford to buy it I would enjoy wearing it, on occasion. What about you guys?

Please educate dumber..

What's the point of hiding partially the number on the caseback while it's clearly visible on the other picture where the watch is in holder?

Is this diver-specific number?
